Differenza Donna is an organization that works on protecting women thanks to initiatives against gender-based violence, wage disparity and discriminations against women. To support a fundraiser for the organization, the first step was the creation of a provocative concept: “What is the cost of being a woman?“
In our society, the simple fact of belonging in womankind imposes additional costs on women compared to men. Every action or object can have a real cost that is much higher than its price, because the total sum must include the emotional, moral and physical expenditure that is only required of women. Donors have then been asked to “even the score”, in order to make it possible for women to stop bearing the cost of this increased burden. The campaign started with a video that explored the concept.
Master’s Degree in Economics: 4,000 euros + three years to find my first job because I wanted a child
Evening dress: 150 euros for the seamstress + one month in intensive care after a group rape
Briefcase: 70 euros at the shop + the humiliation of earning less than a man doing the same job
Movie night: 18,50 euros + the slaps of my partner for going out against his will
Continuing education: 2,500 each year + the frustration of never reaching a role with decision making power
What is the cost of being a woman?
The price to pay today is too high: we at Differenza Donna want to even the score and defeat violence against women in all its forms.
Help us make a difference by supporting us with a donation

The second phase of the campaign was implemented with a direct marketing activity aimed at a specific target consisting of directors and HR managers, that was developed starting from an object they see everyday: a resume.
